Team 1-High school
Our group (Aubry McMahon, Tori Giles, Connor, Garrett Kight, Austin, and Jessie of course!) We are known as, team ONEderful:) We are most definitely the best! Day one was very productive and we got many things done including: scraping the paint off of the front and side doors, tore up linoleum and water damaged boards in the master bathroom, and starting on the new set of stairs to the back door. The gentleman we are working for, Mr. Holiday is a very nice man who loves to share about his life experiences and his family. We had a lot of fun meeting him and interacting with him as he taught us a couple of life lessons. We are very excited to learn more and to work for him as well as Jesus.
Team 2- High School
Our work team is Hayleigh Armour, Brianna Marino, Mallory Sims, Kelley Hillsgrove, Clay Darcey, Andrew Bumpers, and Hunter Dowless. Our adults are Ed Landis and Candace Lovett. We are working at Rita Raines' house. She is handicapped and uses a wheelchair ramp. Mr. Ed sawed a section of the bathroom floor, that we are repairing for mold and mildew, and he said DO NOT WALK ON THIS SECTION OF THE FLOOR! Well he walked on that section and fell through the floor. Hayleigh and Bri were Ed's nurses and cleaned him up very nicely. We are excited to see what tomorrow will bring! (:
Team 3 - High School
Our work team is Morgan Blythe, Kaitlyn Sizemore, David McGraw, Walt Miles, Sarah Fuquay, Allysa Kotowski, Alex Cook. We are working at the Pritchard house fixing the floors in the dining area, bathroom, and kitchen. Today everyone helped to tear out the floors. Walt, Alex, Kaitlyn, and David all fell through. Mr. Pritchard is physically handicapped and his wife has a broken arm so they are not able to fix the problems themselves. Their son Damion is very quiet but he has opened up to Walt. Quote of the day-"Don't worry about breaking anything because you guys are a gift from heaven."-Mrs. Pritchard
Team 4 - Middle School
Our team members are McKenzie Patten, Lauren Lovett, Wes Anderson, Luke Ware, Carson Williamson, Hailey Howett, Curt Pearl, Justin Wilson, and Camryn Darland. We are working for a women named QUEEN EL. I would love to be named queen. Well she is a very sweet, interesting person and it is so cool. She takes old souvenirs and turns them into things that are very useful. For example, she took the back of a toilet and turned it into her own personal flower pot. she took the lid of the back of the toilet and wrote, "my flower potty"! We are working on Ms. El's windows and we are replacing the wood around the windows, we made her a garden area, and painting the new window frames. Ms. El's neighbor, Hank, is so helpful. He helps us with the windows, using the hammers, saws, and Caulk, and the glue. Ms. El even offered to make us lunch on Friday!!!!! Ms. El lives across the street from a 93 year old women who acts like we do, she can drive, walk and play the piano really well. Their whole neighborhood is just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) we are soooooooo excited to work with them for the rest of the week. :) :) :)

Today we work for a lady of the name Ms. Gray. She has a son,a dog, and some new born puppies. Ms.Gray suffers from severe arthritis therefore she is unable to fix some miner construction issues in her home. The front porch roof is flat therefore water sits on top of her roof unable to run off the side of the house. Another problem is the door in her living room leads out to a 3 foot drop about 5 feet away from the deck. Also in the master bathroom the trim is coming up from the wall.
Today we demolished the back deck, therefore we could expand it to the living room door. As well we inserted new poles into the ground, preparing them for tomorrows rebuilding of the deck.In the bathroom we renailed parts of the trim as well as lowering sections that did not reach the floor line. As for the front porch we sawed off the front railing and made other preperations and measurements for angling the roof tommorrow. We had an amazing day and can't wait to go back tommorrow! :)
