This week has been a hot but worth while week. Everyone had a great time working and meeting new people. We have all made new friends that we can keep for life. Although we worked very hard, we had our times of fun too. Ping pong tournaments and banana grams and apples to apples have kept us entertained after a hard days work. The lines to the showers were long but we all managed to keep smelling good:)The bonds we've formed with each other and with the families we worked for are indescribable and they just show how powerful God really is.
Today was our last day on the job sites and each group bought gifts for the families we worked for. I think we can all agree that seeing the joy on their faces was definitely the best part of this week. The families could not express their gratitude completely but we could all tell how much our work meant to them. Being able to spread God's word by doing this work is a great experience for all of us. Tonight instead of worship each person wrote down something they were hiding from other people, themselves, and God. We nailed them to the cross then said a prayer. It was very emotional for all of us because we were able to feel Gods power. Kevin explained that the last night is always bitter sweet for him because he knows that we're really getting it but he also knows that after a few weeks that feeling to do good for others will be gone. That has inspired most of us to go out and continue doing this work even if it's in the smallest ways. We have all learned so much from this trip and have made so many new friends. It is an experience we will never forget.
